The first black lieutenant governor in North Carolina’s history urged pro-lifers during a rally this month to continue speaking out for the unborn, saying their activism is similar to the abolitionists’ fight against slavery in the 1700s and 1800s.
Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, a Republican, made the comments during the annual Rally and March for Life Jan. 16, which was held exactly one week after he took the oath office. Robinson won election in November with 51 percent of the vote. He told the pro-lifers at the rally that “life begins in the womb.” “If we do not purge abortion from our shores for the cause of life the same way we purged slavery for the cause of liberty, this nation will not continue to stand,” Robinson said. Abortion, he said, is a moral evil like slavery. He also compared pro-lifers to the abolitionists of yesteryear.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- More than 150 evangelical pastors, seminary and college professors, ministry leaders and others have signed a declaration known as the “Nashville Statement,” which affirms God’s design and intent regarding sexuality, marriage and gender identity.
The Nashville Statement, which is an initiative of the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood and the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, was released on Tuesday and features 14 short proclamations, or articles, arranged in constitutional form. The statement, while pertaining to homosexuality and transgenderism, also speaks universally in regard to God’s desire that all mankind remain sexually pure until marriage and notes that the Creator distinctively designed the woman to complement the man and bear the couple’s children. It additionally addresses the requirement for faithfulness within the marital covenant, which is to mirror Christ and His bride, the Church. Having to prove the existence of God to an atheist is like having to prove the existence of the sun, at noon on a clear day. Yet millions are embracing the foolishness of atheism. “The Atheist Delusion” pulls back the curtain and reveals what is going on in the mind of those who deny the obvious. It introduces you to a number of atheists who you will follow as they go where the evidence leads, find a roadblock, and enter into a place of honesty that is rarely seen on film.
From Living Waters, creators of the award-winning TV program “The Way of the Master” and the hit movies “180” and “Evolution vs. God,” comes the powerful film “The Atheist Delusion.” Executive produced by TV co-host and best-selling author Ray Comfort (Hell’s Best Kept Secret, Scientific Facts in the Bible). By: MICAIAH BILGER Many Judeo-Christian leaders speak out against abortion, but the few who advocate for abortion often are the ones who get the most media attention. On Monday in Kentucky, pro-abortion clergy held a rally at the State Capitol to advocate for abortion and other issues, the State-Journal reports. The event was called the Higher Ground Moral Day of Action, and it was held in conjunction with other rallies nation-wide. Source: Constitution.com
By: Onan Coca Ah, I remember the halcyon days when our nation was guided by the tenets found in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. When the First Amendment guaranteed a citizens right to speech and religious liberty – even if that speech or those religious beliefs were unpopular. Sadly, in Obama’s America, an America ruled by politically correct liberal fascists who are eerily reminiscent of the religious police that roam the streets of Iran and Saudi Arabia, these precious liberties are disappearing before our very eyes. The latest example comes to us from North Carolina State University where Christian students are being forced to challenge a draconian (and unjust) school policy that bars them from speaking about their faith. By: THE CHRISTIAN INSTITUTE Asking children to attend Christian assemblies undermines their human rights, according to a United Nations committee. A highly controversial new report by the U.N. Committee on the Rights of the Child expresses "concern" that pupils in the U.K. are legally required to take part in a daily act of collective worship, which is "wholly or mainly of a broadly Christian character." Conservative MP David Burrowes described the criticism as "ludicrous" and said the government can "respectfully put those kinds of reports in the bin where they belong." Source: National Geographic
By: Gabe Bullard You don’t usually think of churches as going out of business, but it happens. In March, driven by parishioner deaths and lack of interest, the U.K. Mennonites held their last collective service. It might seem easy to predict that plain-dressing Anabaptists—who follow a faith related to the Amish—would become irrelevant in the age of smartphones, but this is part of a larger trend. Around the world, when asked about their feelings on religion, more and more people are responding with a meh. Source: Christian Post
BY: MICHAEL GRYBOSKI Nearly four in 10 Republican voters who identify themselves as "born again" or "evangelical" don't believe the Bible is the literal Word of God. Pew Research published an analysis last week on the evangelical vote in the 2016 election season, using data accrued from the 20014 Religious Landscape Study. According to the 2014 data, 39 percent of self-identified evangelical voters in the Republican Party do not believe the Bible is literal Word of God. There are not many times that we declare something a red alert at CYI Worldwide / News watch. But looking at the rising tide of anti-Christian violence and rhetoric, this article seemed timely. It's time to sound the alarm, get right with God and make a concerted effort to spread the gospel. The return of Jesus is at the door.
